A return to a rockier Bowie, this album was another huge commercial success, though not so enthusiastically-received by the critics. It formed the basis of the colossal, theatrical Glass Spider Tour, which prompted a similar critical response to the album. Co-produced by David Richards and Bowie himself, Never Let Me Down spawned three singles – the title track, Time Will Crawl and Day-In Day-Out – the latter two being huge global hits. Mickey Rourke, actor and friend of DB, performed a rap on the song Shining Star (Makin’ My Love).
