Kevin Armstrong is the guitarist you may never have heard of, but have most certainly heard. He has had a stellar career since the early 1980s as sidekick for David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Morrissey, Sinéad O’Connor, Prefab Sprout, Thomas Dolby, Transvision Vamp and host of others. He has played with a huge range of stars from Roy Orbison to Brian Eno. Grace Jones to Paul McCartney, Sandie Shaw to the Eagles of Death Metal, Gil Evans to Alien Sex Fiend. Kevin continues to tour the world with Iggy Pop. Kevin started out as an Oval Records artist in 1981 with his band Local Heroes SW9. They made two albums, Drip Dry Zone and How The West Was Won. Kevin then went on to work as a guitarist, writer, producer and bandleader for many well known artists, including David Bowie and Morrissey. He continues to write and produce his own songs as well as touring with legendary singer Iggy Pop.
Kevin played guitar for Bowie at Live Aid and on Absolute Beginners
Kevin was also known as the unofficial fifth member of Tin Machine. And co-wrote Run and Outside with Bowie.
