Obverse Books is proud to announce the forthcoming publication of STARDUST & SNOW, Paul Magrs’ magical Christmas story.

Last year, the British author Paul Magrs was told a wonderful true story about a young boy’s meeting David Bowie, which he shared with the world via his blog. The story was embraced by people everywhere and, after being reposted by David’s wife Iman and his son and many other lovely people, quickly went viral.

Now, for this Christmas, he’s gone back and turned that story into a perfect little Christmas fairy tale, ‘Stardust & Snow’.

This is the tale of one shy young boy’s encounter during a 1980s Christmas with the legendary David Bowie. It’s about a moment in which one of the great secrets of the universe is revealed and passed on. It’s about the secret of how to bravely be yourself and overcome all your fears.

STARDUST & SNOW is a modern fairy-tale in the tradition of Truman Capote’s ‘A Christmas Memory’ and Dylan Thomas’s ‘A Child’s Christmas in Wales’, allowing us to visit a lost moment in a Christmas past: a touching, almost forgotten fragment in the life of one of stardom’s great creators – and that of one small boy.

When he was a kid, Daniel won a competition and he went off to London to meet David Bowie at Christmas…
