During photoshoots, you don’t always have a moment to experience what it’s like to actually be there. You’re working, running around, trying to get the job done. That was the case when I photographed David Bowie at Chicago’s Uptown Snack Shop in 2004. This shot was taken after we had wrapped and everyone else had left. It was just me and David having a moment. He looks like a rockabilly Roy Orbison-type here, but this was really just him, relaxing and talking music after a long day on tour and on set.
