Davy Jones And The Lower Third – I Want Your Love. Previously unreleased, 1965.

Recently discovered Unreleased Acetate recording by Davy Jones And The Lower Third of a track written by John Dee and Jack Tarr and also recorded by The Pretty Things on their 1965 album “Get The Picture?”. This was around the time Davy Jones (Bowie) was working with Shel Talmy and according to the publishing data base, and the Shel Talmy archivist, the band were hired to demo this song. It is a full on The Who assault with slashing guitars and David Bowie’s distinctive (although early and probably still trying to finalise his distinctive style) vocals.

The Acetate will be sold at Wessex Auction Rooms on the 16th December: https://www.wessexauctionrooms.co.uk

**The Acetate sold for £12,000 + £3000 (commission) = £15,000.**
